INTERNATIONAL BOXING FEDERATION AFRICA(IBF/AFRICA) – FRIDAY 04, 2013, DAR ES SALAAM, TANZANIA - The IBF/Africa PresidentOnesmo Ngowi arrived in Botswana ready to mentor the first ever professional boxing tournament in the mineral rich Southern African country.
Ngowi arrived in Gaborone which is the capital city of Botswana aboard the Air Botswana’s flight carrier from Windhoek, Namibia via Johannesburg South Africa, to mentor the first ever local professional boxing tournament.
Mr. Bond Ngubula a.k.a 007 who is the Managing Director and owner of Bond Boxing Promotions, declared that the whole of Botswana is looking toward this historic first tournament as a launching pad for the ”IBF International Jr. Featherweight Title” in Maum in December and many others to come.
“We were so excited and thankful to your historic visit to Botswana in April this year and now we look forward to a successful tournament in 05 October” said Mr. Nguluba to the IBF/AFRICA President Onesmo Ngowi upon his arrival at the Sir Seretse Khama International Airport.
Several experienced amateur boxers have lined up for this major historic tournament where Moabi Mothiba (Botswana) will meet a boxer from Zambia. Kgomotso Box from Botswana will fightOnkabetse Mukoodi also from Botswana.
Other boxing bouts will pair Boitumelo Taolo v. Teso Letsikgwane, Kebonethebe Ramaboana v. Thato Monabana, Gomotsang Gaasitse v. Last Magare, Teboho Kagiso v. Mmoloki Nogengrespectively.
At the weigh-in this morning hundreds of boxing enthusiast flocks to the Cresta Lodge, the venue of the boxing tournament to witness several athletes weigh-in while flexing their muscles ready to rumbletomorrow.
